Just as he promised, Jack had me back at my dorm early the next morning, giving me enough time to shower, get my things together for class, and grab a coffee before my first lecture of the day.

And I really needed more coffee.

Jack had kept me up until almost four o’clock that morning. We would doze off for a few minutes, and he’d wake me up for another round.

I wasn’t complaining, though. Not one bit. It was nice to be with a man that couldn’t keep his hands off of me. I loved the attention he gave me.

And unlike every other guy I’d been with, he cuddled with me afterward, taking care of me, making sure I stayed hydrated. He even got up and made us pizza at two in the morning because I was starving.

For me, it was the little things that counted.

Jhenna and Marge leaned closer to me. We’d agreed to meet here for coffee like we always did every single week. It was our normal routine, and it was our way of making sure that even when life got busy, we made time to catch up and vent about life.

Both of my friends had big smiles on their faces. “Spill the beans. Who in the hell did you go out with last night?” Marge demanded.

I blushed. I chewed nervously on my bottom lip, spinning my Frappuccino around in my hands as I contemplated telling them.

I was terrified of ruining the magic I had with Jack, but I never kept secrets from my friends.

“Mr. Rollins,” I finally whispered. “My English professor.”

“Holy fucking shit!” Jhenna exclaimed. I winced at the volume of her voice. “Tell us everything.”

I smiled, unable to help myself. “I went home with him Friday night,” I informed them. Jhenna smirked. She knew I was a nasty slut when I got drunk. “He begged me to give him a chance – even went as far as to find out if either of us could get into trouble for being in a relationship.” My cheeks warmed. “He’s so sweet, you guys. And he’s so attentive.”

“And you obviously went home with him again last night, didn’t you?” Marge teased.

My blush darkened, but I didn’t say anything. Jhenna gently squeezed my hand, a tender smile on her face as she looked at me. “I’m so happy for you, Amber. You deserve to be happy. Life has dealt you a shitty hand thus far.” I flipped my hand over to give hers a gentle squeeze in return.

“Maybe you should see if you can get a free ride through his class,” Marge teased, wiggling her eyebrows at me. I lightly shoved her shoulder, laughing at her. I hadn’t missed her double entendre there.

“Get your mind out of the gutter, Marge. I am not riding him while he’s teaching,” I told her.

Marge giggled before she and Jhenna both cursed. “Fuck; we’re late to class.” They both quickly hugged me. “We’ll finish talking later, yeah?”

I waved them off before I stood and grabbed my purse and coffee.
